Choosing a catalogue reference for your next trim

Use the sample library to communicate a direction, then discuss the specification and changes your project needs.

A catalogue is a useful place to begin when you know the kind of accessory you need but have not settled on the final version. JASS has physical and electronic sample catalogues. You can select a reference or discuss changes to an existing sample.

Browse the family that fits your project

The online sample library includes lace, buttons, bag hardware, and labels and trims. Start with the relevant family, then save the reference that is closest to your idea.

A catalogue reference is a starting point for discussion. It does not mean every style is in stock, or that the same minimum quantity, price and delivery time apply to every item.

Explain what attracted you to the reference

  • The overall shape or decorative pattern.
  • A particular size, material or colour direction.
  • The intended use on a garment or bag.
  • The details you would like to change.

These are prompts for your brief. Tell the team which details are known and which need sample development.

Keep the reference easy to find

Include the catalogue name and page, or send the product link alongside your notes. If you have marked a photograph, keep the unmarked reference too, so the original detail remains visible.

Move from selection to a sample discussion

Share your estimated quantity and target date with the reference. JASS reviews the requirements and discusses the specification before development. Fees, quantities and timing are confirmed for the product and order.

Open the sample catalogues, read what to include in a development brief, or discuss your reference with JASS.
